The SheBelieves Cup: Some of Our Favorite Believers
The SheBelieves Cup is having its ninth annual cup this week, meaning its tenth anniversary is just around the corner. Held annually in the United States, the tournament features the U.S. Women's National Team alongside three invited teams, bringing the talent from women all around to compete against each other in preparation for the FIFA Women’s World Cup. More than a competition, this annual event is something that we love for women's empowerment as the SheBelieves Cup promotes confidence for all women to follow their dreams.
“Shebelieves is a movement to encourage young women and girls to reach their dreams, athletic or otherwise. ”
As the cup is underway this week, we thought it would be fun to give a rundown on some of the key players of the U.S. team!
The Thompson Sisters

Alyssa Thompson, twenty, and her sister Gisele, nineteen, both play for the Angel City FC and the United States women’s national team. These two sisters, both at such a young age, have shown their determination through their amazing soccer skills. As Alyssa plays forward and Gisele plays right back, they both express their own special talents. The best part is they do it together by running around on the same field in matching uniforms.
Alyssa Thompson made her name known right away. She was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NWSL draft. With that number one pick, she was the youngest player ever to be drafted within the league, which cemented her name in history. Alyssa is a huge inspiration for young women all around. She was drafted straight out of high school and played in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, proving that some dreams come true faster than others if you work hard enough.
Gisele Thompson wasn’t too far behind her sister when she joined her a year later on Angel City FC after she graduated in 2024. Gisele is known for her intense defending skills and being such a shining star on the field at nineteen. Both sisters are now playing at the SheBelieves Cup this week, and we can’t help but adore this perfect sister duo.
Lynn Williams- Biyendolo

Lynn Williams, now going by Lynn Biyendolo for this season after her recent marriage, plays as a forward for the Seattle Reign FC and the United States Women’s National Team, competing in this year's SheBelieves Cup. Last year, Lynn scored her 79th career goal, making her the NWSL’s all-time leading scorer. She also made history in her international debut in 2019 against Switzerland, scoring just 49 seconds after the clock started. Lynn scored one goal in this year's cup, and we're excited to see her play against Japan. Like the Thompson sisters, she has proven why she is on the national team, showcasing her drive and talent and giving us all the inspirational motivation we need.
Tierna Davidson

In 2019, Tierna Davidson was the first overall pick in the NWSL college draft by the Chicago Red Stars and now plays for the NJ/NY Gotham FC. Tierna has demonstrated her talent ever since college when she and her team at Stanford won the NCAA Championship in 2017. In 2019, she had another amazing win as she was the youngest player on the USA’s World Cup roster when they won the FIFA Women’s World Cup. Tierna also announced her recent marriage to her wife, Alison, last December. She posted on her Instagram with the caption “Running into 2025 with my wife” and we couldn’t be happier for the both of them.
Crystal Dunn

Crystal Dunn is a forward or attacking midfielder for the United States Women’s National Team. She recently announced her move to the Première Ligue club Paris Saint-Germain, sharing her news on Instagram a few weeks ago. Crystal was playing in the youth national teams long before she debuted professionally, showing her dedication and appreciation for soccer. She was first drafted by the Washington Spirit in 2014 and, over the past decade, has consistently shown her love for the sport. Just like Tierna, Crystal was a part of the U.S. team that won the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Crystal is known for her ability to play two positions and her positive, energetic attitude while doing so. That is something we definitely believe in as well.
Claire Hutton

Born in 2006, 19-year-old Claire Hutton is a defensive midfielder for the Kansas City Current. She signed at the early age of 17, having graduated early from high school. This past Sunday, Claire made her international debut with the United States Women’s National League by assisting her teammates as a midfielder. Being so young, we can’t wait to see Claire’s career take off. She truly represents the young culture and inspires many.
We are proud of these inspiring, dedicated, and confident players and hope to see them in victory as they face Japan!
