The Super Bowl LIX Weekend
The 2024 NFL season has officially concluded, with the Eagles emerging as the champions. Let’s take a closer look at the game and discuss all the other events and sights from Super Bowl weekend in New Orleans.
Philly, You Are Champions
Wow, that’s all we can say! In a huge and somewhat shocking win over the Kansas City Chiefs, the Philadelphia Eagles are now the Super Bowl Champions. They dominated the Chiefs with a score of 40-22, dethroning the two-time champions, and we are honestly pretty excited about it.
With Jalen Hurts winning the MVP award, the Eagles delivered an outstanding performance, with their defense leading the charge. They held the Chiefs to only 12 first downs and 49 rushing yards. It’s safe to say that Philadelphia truly deserved this victory!
Every Eagle Celebrates
It wouldn’t be a Sportsish weekend recap without highlighting the players' post-game celebrations. Let’s take a look at some of the best cellys we saw.
Nick Sirianni
Coach Sirianni shared a sweet moment with his loved ones after the game. Cue the waterworks.
Jalen Hurts
Celebrating with his family, Jalen is our MVP on the field and in our hearts. Not only is he bringing home a Super Bowl ring, but Hurts will soon add a wedding ring to his collection with his fiancée, Bry Burrows. They are such a sweet couple!
Saquon Barkley
Call him the comeback kid! In his first season with Philadelphia and for the first time in his career, Saquon Barkley has won a Super Bowl ring. He celebrated his 28th birthday on game day and received the ultimate birthday present—the Lombardi Trophy. We admire his sportsmanship and athleticism, and honestly, he looks great in Kelly Green.
THE Nike Commercial
In an incredibly empowering and feminist advertisement, Nike showcased many of our favorite female athletes in a stunning commercial. The campaign encourages us to “Just Do It” and features athletes like Jordan Chiles, Caitlin Clark, and Sha'Carri Richardson. In the caption for the video posted on Instagram, Nike stated, “There’s one guarantee in sport: You’ll be told you can’t do it. So do it anyway. You can’t win. So win.” We’re almost in tears over here! It's absolutely uplifting and gives us chills.
Kendrick x SZA
In a halftime show that energized the entire crowd, Kendrick performed numerous hit songs, including “Squabble Up,” “TV Off,” and “DNA.” He also brought out SZA to perform their popular tracks, “Luther” and “All the Stars.” we are dying to go to their tour and looking up tickets as we speak!
During his performance of the popular Drake diss track “Not Like Us,” tennis star Serena Williams was seen dancing on stage, showcasing her moves. It’s rumored that Serena and Drake used to date, so if that’s true, it would be quite a bold move. Check out our post for more details.
Alex Cooper’s Unwell Appearance
Alex Cooper in her Eagles’ Jersey (Alexandracooper/IG)
We all know her, we all love her—founding father Alex Cooper hosted an exclusive Super Bowl pregame event this past weekend. Since signing her first $60 million deal in 2021, the "Call Her Daddy" host has been on a nonstop journey. A dedicated Philadelphia fan, Cooper organized a meet-and-greet with her fans in New Orleans, where she was, unsurprisingly, a crowd favorite.
Passionately advocating for the need to bridge the gap between women and sports, Alex is a former college soccer player who has traveled the world as a host, including participating in the Olympics. She is an incredible force, and we can't wait to see what she accomplishes next!
Famous Faces we Spotted
No need to worry—we've shared all our spotted celebrity moments on Instagram! However, we want to take a moment to give a special shout-out to our very own Princess of Genovia, Anne Hathaway. She looked stunning as always in a video posted by the NFL, showing her support for the birds. We swear, that woman doesn't age!
